About

I have been a resident of Menomonee Falls and Germantown for the majority of my life.  I grew up in a rural area of Menomonee Falls on 15 acres of farmland.  From about 12 years old, I worked in the fields with my grandparents up to 12 hours every day during the summer.  When it was too wet to work in the fields, I worked in my parents’ open air produce stand, Don’s Produce.  I attended Menomonee Falls High School, and was a member of the track team.  By the time I was 17 years old, I earned the only management position offered to anyone under the age of 18 for Wendy’s.  It was quite an honor and I took my new responsibilities seriously.  After graduation, I worked for several large corporations including Deluxe Data, US Processing which was bought out by ACI and then for First Data Resources.  These large companies offered great benefits including affordable healthcare.

Now, as a small business owner of Modern Travel Services, it is impossible to get affordable health insurance.  Growing up, I remember my parents had similar problems with health insurance.  My parents owned several businesses including Don’s Grading & Topsoil, Don’s Trucking, Crystal’s Trucking, and Don’s Produce, and worked 50 to 70 hours per week.  My grandparents were farmers and tended the fields on our farm.  My parents had discussions that they wanted to offer health insurance to their employees, but they couldn’t afford it.  Today, they offer health insurance to their employees, but most of them cannot afford it.

The one thing that hasn’t changed in 20 years is the difficulty in finding affordable health insurance.  I will look at the healthcare industry in Wisconsin and find ways to make health insurance more affordable so families can stop worrying when they become sick.

I will work with school boards, teachers, and members of the legislature to reduce classroom sizes by looking at how schools use their budget, and based off of those findings, come up with legislation that restricts reckless spending of our tax dollars.  Children deserve smaller class sizes so they have the opportunity to a better education and more one-on-one time with their teachers.

I will also work to close tax loopholes that large corporations currently use to funnel hundreds of millions of dollars out of Wisconsin every year.  You and I pay our taxes.  They should too.

I ask for your vote on November 4th.
